(AhlulBayt News Agency) - President Rouhani addressed a health festival on Tuesday and said that the administration would continue along its path with people’s support and the Supreme Leader’s guidance.
In the meeting that was held on Tuesday in Tehran, Dr Rouhani described preventing diseases as the 11th Administration’s first and foremost goal in its healthcare plan, adding: “Despite sharp decrease in oil prices, applying the Healthcare Reform Plan was the 11th Administration’s priority”.
The 11th Administration’s first decision was to resolve economic hardships and unjust sanctions, said Rouhani adding: “Sanctions were pressuring people’s lives and affected the administration’s services”.
“I was sure that we would succeed in negotiations,” he continued, adding that the Iranian nation proved that they are victorious against world powers with their unity and support.
He also said: “Our goal to protect national interests,” adding: “We have enemies in and out of the region and we must work together and join hands. We provided our neighbours with help in hardest economic conditions”.
Dr Rouhani continued: “Those who launched the missiles made a sacrifice but who built the missiles? It is the administration. The defence ministry builds strategic missiles and the required money is provided by the economic sector”.
“Strategic weapons built in the 11th Administration is almost 80 per cent more than the previous administration,” continued the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On preserving lakes and lagoons in the 11th Administration, he said: “If it were not for the 11th Administration’s efforts, Lake Urmia would be dried out a year ago and salt storm would threaten 14 million Iranians’ lives”.
He also went on to say: “Efforts to save Hoor Al-Azim, Hamoon and other lagoons will continue”.
"Many did not believe the 11th Administration would be able to equip hospitals and increase their beds by 25 thousand" continued Rouhani.
He also said: “I urge successful manages of the Healthcare Reform Plan to serve the nation more in the 12th Administration”.
Charity and NGOs must increase their role in the field of health, said Rouhani adding: “Liveliness and hope is an important factor in society’s health”.

Despite all economic issues because of lower oil prices than previous administrations, he said: “we deposited $40bn to the National Development Fund in hard days”.
