(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS) is scheduled to set up a medical center in Bangladesh to render humanitarian supplies to Myanmar Muslim refugees.
IRCS representative in Bangladesh Hassan Esfandiar said on Sunday that Iran's humanitarian aid, including sugar, cooking oil and tea, has been distributed among the Rohingya refugees sheltered in Bangladesh.
Following an August 25 attack against Muslim minorities by Myanmar Army which left at least 400 dead, nearly 125,000 Rohingya Muslims fled the country seeking shelter in Bangladesh.
The Buddhist-dominated Myanmar regards the Rohingya Muslims living in the country as Bangladeshi, what the Bangladesh government rejects.
The massacre of Rohingya Muslims has intensified over the past days leading to a flow of refugees.
Based on a report by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), a fresh round of violence against Muslim minorities have caused tens of thousands of them to cross into Bangladeshi border either on boat or on foot.
