(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Thursday strongly condemned the Zionist regime's attack on Syria as blatant violation of the country's sovereignty.
The frequent attacks by the occupying regime of Quds on Syrian soil is an act of aggression which reveals the hegemonic nature of the Zionist regime which cannot stand to see peace, stability and security in the region and which is after creating crises and destabilizing the region to ensure its own security, he said.
The Zionist regime's frequent attacks on Syria under fabricated and baseless excuses is a breach of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and in defiance of all international laws and regulations, the spokesman said.
The silence of other countries and international organizations on such aggressive moves and behavior of the Zionist regime means giving a green light to it and encouraging this regime to continue its aggressive moves, Qasemi said.
Legitimate defense against the aggressors is the right of the resistant government and nation of Syria, the foreign ministry spokesman said.
Over the past seven years, Damascus has resisted the brutal and armed attacks carried out by terrorist groups on behalf of the Zionist regime, the United States and some of their regional allies, inflicting heavy defeats on those groups and preventing their sponsors from attaining their goals, he said.
Today, Qasemi said, the main supporters of the terrorist groups, have embarked on launching direct attacks on the Syrian territory in a bid to make good on the heavy setbacks suffered by these groups and tilt the balance of power to the favor of the decaying groups.
