AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei will attend a mourning ceremony on Tuesday, which marks Arbaeen, the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).

The Imam Khomeini (RA) Husseiniyeh (religious hall) in Tehran will host the ceremony, which will also be attended by hundreds of university students from around the country.

The students will march from the university of Tehran to the Husseiniyeh on Tuesday morning.

Arbaeen, meaning “the fortieth” in Arabic, is observed 40 days after Ashura, the tenth day of the lunar calendar month of Muharram, when Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was martyred along with dozens of his companions at the hands of the tyrant of the time, Yazid I, more than thirteen centuries ago.
