(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The US is not the authority to certify Iran's commitment to nuclear deal, Tehran's envoy to Britain Hamid Baeedinejad in a message said.
'While the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed Iran's compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) for eight times, decertifying Iran's compliance with the deal is clear violation of international law and IAEA rules,' Hamid Baeedinejad said in a message released on his Telegram Channel.
Former top nuclear negotiator has said in a message released in his Twitter account that 'US admin, legally speaking, may not play the role of an authority to certify Iran's compliance with JCPOA, there is only one judge: IAEA.'
He went on to say that IAEA is the only body which is responsible for reviewing Iran's compliance with nuclear deal.
According to the US Congress approval, US President Donald Trump should certify Iran's commitment every 90 days.
This is while, the IAEA published on Aug 31, its eighth report and the third since Trump has taken office in January 2017, to confirm that Iran has been committed to the deal.
The report comes a week after the visit of the US representative in the UN Nikki Haley to IAEA in Vienna to press the United Nations nuclear watchdog to seek access to Iran's military sites.
