(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Certain Arab states have been coordinating their policies with the Zionist regime of Israel and the US, distancing themselves from the concerns of the Muslim world, Iran's foreign minister said on Friday.
The current situation shows the extent of Arab states' dependence on the US, Mohammad-Javad Zarif told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) upon arrival in Istanbul.
'It is regretful that certain Arab countries instead of defending the rights of the oppressed Palestinians and fighting the Zionist regime and the US for their flagrant, horrible crimes, have put Hezbollah on the list of terrorist groups; whereas, Hezbollah is the sole Arab group that has managed to liberate the Islamic territories from the occupation of the Zionist regime,' he said.
The foreign minister who is in Turkey to take part in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation extraordinary meeting, welcomed the prompt move of the country as the rotating president of the OIC.
Following the US provocative move in relocating its embassy from Tel Aviv to Quds tens of thousands of Palestinians protested the move that were suppressed brutally by the Israeli forces. At least 60 Palestinians were killed and some 3,000 others injured by live fire or other lethal means.
The voices of objection being heard from some Arab countries show that the Muslim world is united against the US and the Israel's moves, and a few dependent countries cannot represent the 1.5-billion strong Muslim world, Zarif said.
The extraordinary session of OIC on Palestine, Israeli crimes in Gaza and relocation of the US embassy relocation will be held on Friday with the presence of high-ranking officials from more than 40 countries in Istanbul. Thirteen heads of states will participate in the meeting.
