Iran's Salehi visits Italian nuclear institute

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi has visited the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) in Italy.

Salehi heading a delegation is in Rome on an invitation by the Italian officials.

On Monday he held a meeting with Valeria Fedeli, Italian Minister for Education, University, and Research and visited the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics.

'There is a very positive atmosphere between Iran and Italy after the implementation of the Iran nuclear deal,' Salehi said.

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said that Tehran and Rome use the positive atmosphere in the best way possible.

It is obvious that Italy is interested to develop its cooperation with Iran in scientific, industrial and sophisticated technologies, Salehi said.

During their meeting Salehi and Fedeli emphasized promotion of scientific relations in all spheres, including quantum physics.

Meanwhile, Fedeli said Iran compliance with the nuclear deal known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is very important for Italy.

Italy supports implementation of the nuclear deal, she said.

She also expressed hope for reinforcing cooperation between Iran and Italy.

Salehi is scheduled to deliver a speech in the XX Edoardo Amaldi Conference 'International Cooperation for Enhancing Nuclear Safety, Security, Safeguards and Non-proliferation'.

The Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN; 'National Institute for Nuclear Physics') is the coordinating institution for nuclear, particle and astroparticle physics in Italy.
