AhlulBayt News Agency - North Korea said Japan was “tricking” the world by inventing a Pyongyang plot to bomb Tokyo, in order to excuse a pre-emptive strike.
Despot Kim Jong-un’s state media mouthpiece said Japan was purposefully ratcheting up tension on the peninsula so it could invade and take over the country.
And KCNA said Japan’s youth was being indoctrinated into thinking North Korea must be destroyed for the safety of the West.
The propaganda network said today: “They are making desperate efforts to create terror-ridden atmosphere in the society of Japan under the pretence of ‘threats’ from the DPRK. But it is a thinly-veiled trick.
“The sordid intention of the Abe group, anti-DPRK confrontation fanatics, is to realise vile political purpose and ambition for re-invasion by actively spreading the rumour of "threats" from the DPRK.”
And the report said Japan was turning the younger generations against North Korea in a bid to blacken Kim’s name across the globe.
The report said: “They seek to train the younger generations into brutes occupied by hostility toward the DPRK and militarism by fanning up war-phobia even at schools.
“The chieftain fostering unrest and terror in the society of Japan and posing threats to its proper is none other than the Abe group, and it is the Japanese people that are suffering the biggest damage from it.”
Returning to their usual rhetoric, the North Korean news agency’s report took on a more aggressive stance - highlighting the reckless sabre-rattling they were accusing Japan of exaggerating.
“The report said: “The Japanese reactionaries sharpening the sword for reinvasion, far from making an apology for the thrice-cursed crimes against the Korean nation, are the sworn enemy of the Koreans and a root cause of misfortunes in the society of Japan and the foe to peace in Asia and the rest of the world.
Japan should stop such foolish act of inviting disasters to it, clearly understanding the strategic position of the DPRK and the trend of the times.”
The bizarre outburst comes after a short period of good relations between North Korea and the West. During the Winter Olympics in South Korea, the two states marched together under a joint ‘unification’ banner.
And in an historic gesture North and South Korea also fielded a joint women’s ice hockey team.
