(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Allama Moosa Baig Najafi, a renowned Shia scholar, senior seminary teacher and author, who passed away after protracted illness, was laid to rest in Firdausia graveyard, Lahore.
The funeral prayers were offered at the Jamiatul Muntazir in Lahore where Allama Riaz Hussain Najafi led the Prayers.
Those who attended the funeral prayers included: Allama Sajid Naqvi, Allama Nasir Abbas Jafari, Allama Amin Shaheedi, Allama Arif Wahidi, Allama Niaz Naqvi and other eminent religious scholars.
Allama Moosa Baig Najafi was born in Hunza in Gilgit-Baltistan region in 1941. He came to Jamiatul Muntazir for early education in 1958. He migrated to Najaf (Iraq) for higher religious education in 1965 from where he returned in 1973 and since them remained affiliated with Jamiatul Muntazir where he taught many students.
He authored more than 16 books and also translated many books.
He also worked to strengthen unity between Sunni-Shia Muslims and also signed a code of ethics with Sunni scholar Tahirul Qadri when he had joined hands with Allama Sajid Naqvi.
