AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Bahrain’s highest religious authority Sheikh Isa Qassim will require further treatment in the coming days after being discharged from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The cleric has spent the last 48 hours under close observations following a surgery at a London clinic.

Sheikh Qassim was hospitalized in Bahrain in late June for severe pelvic and back pains after spending over a year under house arrest.

Several days later, he was permitted to leave the Kingdom and seek treatment abroad.

He arrived in London on July 9 and was immediately taken to hospital.
