(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The family of Bahrain’s oldest female prisoner is demanding her immediate release amid growing concern over her health.

54-year-old Fawzia Mashallah, who reportedly suffered a heart attack last week, is being denied proper medical treatment.

LuaLua TV has also learned that she was harassed and mistreated by the authorities during her detention.

She was arrested on December 15 of last year and accused of harboring a fugitive. Mashallah vehemently denies the allegations.

In the lead-up to her arrest, Mashallah’s home was raided by the kingdom’s security forces and she was summoned for questioning the next day.

Her nephews Hassan and Hussein Mashallah are also in detention.
