(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Residents in Bahrain’s Diraz voiced their concern over the fate of ten people, who were scooped-up from the village by the kingdom’s security forces last month.

The residents are alleging that the ten, including two minors, were subjected to brutal torture by the security services.

Among those detained was Shiite cleric Sayyed Adnan al-Sayed Hashim, who was last seen being led away in handcuffs after the heavily armed security forces stormed his home.

Manama is yet to release any details regarding their location, charges, and physical well-being.

Rights groups have documented dozens of cases involving enforced disappearances in Bahrain in recent years. Some of those held incommunicado detention emerge after giving confessions under torture, which are later used to prosecute them.
