Bahraini female detainees due back in court later this month

Bahraini female detainee Medina Ali and Fawzia Mashallah have both had their court hearings adjourned until later this month.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Bahraini female detainee Medina Ali and Fawzia Mashallah have both had their court hearings adjourned until later this month.

Ali’s appeal against a three-year prison sentence, in a case that has thus far been marred by reports of torture and forced confessions, is due to resume on September 25.

Meanwhile, Mashallah is expecting a final verdict in her case when proceedings resume on September 26.

The 55-year-old who was arrested last December and accused of harboring a fugitive has repeatedly denied all charges.

Both Ali and Mashallah have complained about being denied access to adequate health care in detention and being subjected to other forms of ill-treatment.
