(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution was held with the attendance of Brazilian officials, envoys, diplomats and military officials in Brasília.

Iran ambassador to Brazil Ali Saqaian referred to problems happened as a result of complicated conspiracies like 1980-1988 imposed war by Iraq on Iran and the cruel sanctions against Iran by the West.

Iran is trying to achieve important outcomes in new technologies, nano technology, medical and nuclear fields, he said.

The 115-year-old ties between Iran and Brazil is a political, economic and cultural priority for Iran.

Deputy foreign minister of Brazil Ary Quintella, for his part, said as the cradle of Persian civilization Iran plays pivotal role in the history of eastern and western bloc.

The day of Imam Khomeini's return to Iran from exile (Feb 1, 1979) marks the beginning of the Ten-Day Dawn ceremonies which culminate with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11, 1979.

Iranians toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 39 years ago, ending 2,500 years of absolute monarchy in the country.
