(AhlulBayt News Agency) - As part of normalizing ties with the Zionist entity, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with ‘Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New York, in the first ever public meeting.
Taking place on Monday evening, the meeting lasted for some 90 minutes, and is the first ever public conference between them after their secret summit in 2016.
Netanyahu and al-Sisi, who speak on the phone periodically, assembled at the Palace Hotel, where the latter is staying during his visit to New York to take part - like Netanyahu - in the UN General Assembly meeting.
Netanyahu's office issued a statement saying that the discussion was "comprehensive" and dealt with the "problems in the region."
Al-Sisi expressed his willingness "to assist efforts to achieve [so-called] peace between ‘Israel' and the Palestinians and the region," the statement further claimed.
Egypt has become increasingly involved in affairs with the ‘Israeli' entity.
