Israel bans Waqf official from entry to Al-Aqsa, detains guard

Israeli authorities handed an Israeli order to Waqf official, Sheikh Raed Daana, banning him from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for six consecutive months, on Sunday.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Israeli authorities handed an Israeli order to Waqf official, Sheikh Raed Daana, banning him from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for six consecutive months, on Sunday.

According to local sources, Israeli authorities handed the order to Daana banning him from entry to the compound for six months. The reason for the ban remained unknown.

Sources mentioned that Israeli police forces detained an Al-Aqsa Mosque guard, who was identified as Irfat Najib, after being held near the Al-Aqsa’s Council Gate.

The reason for Najib’s detention also remained unknown.

Tensions have been on the high after the reopening of the al-Rahma Gate (Gate of Mercy), one of the Al-Aqsa Mosque gates, where hundreds of Palestinian worshipers performed prayers for the first time since 2003.
