AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani proposed formation of an Islamic Arbitration Tribunal to further broaden relations among the Muslim states.
"Setting up an Islamic Arbitration Tribunal seems a necessity given the extensive ties and trade among the Islamic states," Larijani said, addressing a forum on plans for the future of the Muslim world in Tehran on Sunday.
He also underlined the need for paying attention to the development of the tourism industry among the Muslim states, expressing regret that differences and economic interests have prevented its growth.
Elsewhere, Larijani blasted some of the Muslim rulers for losing the future in return for small gains at present.
Iran has always stressed the need for increased unity and cooperation among the Islamic countries.
The ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Abu Dhabi in March approved a resolution, proposed by Iran, to enhance collective cooperation among the OIC members.
The resolution which had been submitted to the high-ranking OIC officials during the Jeddah meeting early this year is aimed at confronting violent acts against the OIC members, including illegal unilateral sanctions.
It also underlines the need for Islamic states to move on the path of strengthening cooperation within the framework of multilateralism.
Observers believe that the resolution can be considered as one of the important successes of Tehran at the international level to confront the US unilateral sanctions against other countries, including Iran.
